Margaret MacMillan

Margaret Olwen MacMillan, OC (born 23 December 1943 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada) is a historian and professor at the University of Oxford, where she is Warden of St Antony's College. She is former provost of Trinity College and professor of history at the University of Toronto and previously at Ryerson University. A leading expert on history and international relations, MacMillan is a commentator in the media.〔Viceroy of India (1921–1926). Her maternal grandmother, Olwen Elizabeth Lloyd George, was a daughter of David Lloyd George, Prime Minister of the United Kingdom and his first wife Margaret Owen.〔(University affairs:"The making of a best-seller" (January, 2004) )〕〔(Profile of "David Lloyd George, 1st Earl Lloyd George of Dwyfor" in Peerage.com )〕 MacMillan's sister Ann served as the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC)'s London correspondent for almost 40 years, retiring in 2013; Ann is married to British journalist Peter Snow, making Margaret the aunt of historian Dan Snow.
